Introduction

Team DIVA is an undergraduate research team at the University of Maryland, College Park. Led by students in the Gemstone honors program, Team DIVA is attempting to develop a virtual reality tool to visualize climate data more effectively.

Mission

Thanks to the sheer size of the universe, climate and astronomy research generate a colossal volume of data. However, research funding is primarily used to collect even more data, with less attention paid to developing methods for displaying these truly enormous datasets. This project specifically focuses on using virtual reality to visualize data. Our goal is to make data interactive and more understandable for everyone and to help researchers better interpret and analyze climate data on a global scale.
